Preparing your home for marketing

It is a fact that great photography can significantly enhance the saleability of your home. With your help, we can achieve the very best result. Putting aside sometime to get your home decluttered and prepared for the photography appointment, is highly recommended.

Time well spent here can genuinely help to maximise the presentation of your property, and ultimately increase its appeal to potential buyers.

The following tips and tricks should help with getting your home prepared for our appointment.

Internal

  • Declutter as much as you can and where possible put items into storage
  • Consider removing any bulky or any unused furniture
  • Thoroughly clean the whole home
  • Clean all windows
  • Check all light bulbs are working
  • Open blinds and curtains to maximise natural light
  • Consider getting some fresh flowers or small plants

Kitchens

  • Clear worktops, put away utensils, unused appliances and chopping boards
  • Clear fridge/freezer magnets, remove tea towels from ovens etc
  • Hide bins away
  • Put away any washing up
  • Hide any pet food bowls and beds
  • Consider getting a bowl of fresh fruit in the kitchen

Bedrooms and reception rooms

  • Make the beds
  • Ensure that anything under the bed is out of sight
  • Close all draws and cupboards/wardrobes
  • Consider a new throw and cushions for the sofa

Bathroom

  • Remove clutter like shower gels, toothbrushes and children’s bath toys etc
  • Close to toilet seat
  • Fold any towels away neatly

External

  • Move any vehicles from outside of the property
  • Remove any clutter such as bins or hoses
  • Clean the windows and window frames
  • Cut grass, remove weeds from drives, patio’s and flower bed’s.
